Based in Woodbury, New Jersey, AVENUES TO INDEPENDENT LIVING, INC. seeks a senior leader to drive business development, oversee grant management, and manage compliance across the organization. This onsite role offers an hourly pay range of USD 28 to 35 and focuses on CARF accreditation, Health & Safety standards, and building strong community partnerships to advance the agency’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Provide organizational compliance and focus to ensure Agency mission fulfillment.
- Maintain effective and efficient operations and ensure accountability with regulatory agencies.
- Lead, oversee, and manage all Agency grant writing activities, including researching funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, monitoring grant compliance requirements, tracking grant performance and reporting deadlines, and ensuring all grant-funded programs operate in accordance with funding guidelines and Agency objectives.
- Oversee organizational compliance related to Health & Safety and Fire & Safety standards.
- Serve as the Agency lead for CARF accreditation activities.
- Conduct and facilitate monthly meetings with department heads regarding CARF compliance.
- Ensure departmental accountability regarding CARF standards and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain systems to improve organizational efficiency, compliance tracking, interdepartmental communication, and time management practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor QUIP goals and performance benchmarks within 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day timeframes, including completion of annual updates and progress reviews.
- Attend and participate in all job fairs, recruitment events, community outreach activities, and networking opportunities alongside Agency leadership and team members to promote Agency growth and recruitment efforts.
- Successfully complete a ninety (90) day probationary period, during which performance, leadership, compliance management, communication, organizational effectiveness, and overall job responsibilities will be evaluated.
- Develop and maintain a weekly work schedule and submit the schedule to the Executive Director on a weekly basis to ensure accountability, organizational planning, and operational oversight.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in program coordination, management, business development, compliance oversight, and organizational leadership.
- At least ten (10) years’ experience working in a field that services individuals with disabilities.
- Strong working knowledge of grant writing, proposal development, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and professional business writing.
- Strong knowledge of CARF accreditation standards, disability laws, regulatory agencies, Health & Safety requirements, Fire & Safety regulations, and organizational compliance practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Position is not remote and requires regular in-person attendance at all Agency locations, meetings, job fairs, compliance reviews, and community events.
General Description
The Lead of Business Development (LBD) functions as a solutions-focused, detail-oriented, and results-driven organizational officer who advances the agency’s mission through developing new business opportunities, driving organizational growth, overseeing compliance, managing grants, and guiding strategic planning. The LBD is responsible for organizational development, CARF compliance oversight, grant writing and monitoring, Health & Safety compliance, and strengthening Agency partnerships and community presence.
Working Conditions
Duties are performed in an office environment as well as in local communities. This position is not eligible for remote work and requires consistent on-site presence. This is an hourly position working a 40 Hour work week.
