Position Overview
Join KBR as a Federal Civilian Business Development Director. This front line, customer focused leader operates within our business development group and concentrates on Federal Civilian Agency mission and technology programs. You will cultivate relationships with government customers, develop a targeted pipeline, and drive new business wins. The role targets large prime single award opportunities and top pursuits valued from 50 million to 1 billion dollars. Agencies of interest include DHS, DOJ, Treasury, DOT, FAA and other FedCiv agencies. Travel to KBR facilities and client sites is required. Location is Columbia, Maryland 20588.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full business development lifecycle across pursuits and proposals.
- Maintain a robust pipeline and advance opportunities typically valued at 200M plus, across the capture lifecycle, with a focus on federal civilian mission and technology programs.
- Engage with customers to shape future procurements, craft winning strategies, and help develop capture plans that implement the strategy and translate into win themes.
- Ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in capture content throughout the process.
- Plan, lead and execute BD activities including:
- Develop a healthy pipeline of new, winnable opportunities
- Qualify and assess win potential and move opportunities through milestones
- Create a plan to understand customer requirements, challenges, issues, and needs during capture and lead solutioning sessions with the capture team
- Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to gain market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, timing, and contract vehicle choices
- Lead milestone and gate reviews, black hat sessions, solution sessions, blue teams, and support proposal reviews
- Lead the development and submission of white papers, RFI responses, and other customer engagement activities
- Apply KBR BD best practices to each pursuit, including customer engagement and win theme development
- Brief pipeline and opportunity status to senior management at designated milestones
- Develop winning solutions
- Win large new business programs
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and a total of 20+ years of experience, including 10+ years of industry experience and 10+ years in business development
- Experience winning new business, single award contracts valued over 200M
- Proven ability to collaborate with senior business and government leaders and provide leadership within the organization
- Established knowledge and relationships with federal civilian agencies with a proven track record of winning single award programs as a prime
- Ability to win new business and drive profitable financial outcomes
- Demonstrated success in Federal Civilian BD domains such as business development, opportunity identification and qualification, account planning and strategic planning
- Proven leadership in services oriented organizations to develop and execute significant BD activities, including building cross functional teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions
Compensation and Benefits
Basic Compensation: $193,000.00 to $289,500.00. The offered rate will depend on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities and experience, and will be considered in relation to internal parity.
