Republic Services is hiring a Sales Manager to lead and coordinate sales activities for an assigned division, supporting the execution of sales strategies that drive targeted, profitable growth. This onsite role in Urbana, IL focuses on developing business plans, managing sales performance, and supporting the professional development of the sales team.
What youâll do
- Develop and implement business strategies, along with sales and marketing plans that align with the overall operating plan for the business unit.
- Create the sales forecast and maintain accountability for achieving sales goals and key metrics, including budget achievement.
- Lead a team of sales and administrative personnel, including hiring, training, performance coaching, and management.
- Complete weekly âride-alongsâ with sales personnel to provide hands-on training and coaching.
- Support new customer solicitation, bid preparation, and customer retention strategies.
- Hold regular meetings with sales personnel to review the sales activity funnel in the CRM, retention and relationship activities, and sales performance versus goals.
- Proactively contact assigned accounts to identify customer needs, changing requirements, or potential issues, and resolve accordingly.
- Partner with business unit leadership to develop and implement pricing strategy aligned to Company objectives.
- Monitor market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate changing customer needs and proactively manage the customer base.
- Maintain strong product and services knowledge, including available services, lines of business, and pricing structures to support sales efforts.
- Complete all required sales reports in a thorough and timely manner.
- Review Customer Service Agreements for terms and conditions, pricing accuracy, and other required details.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a role that includes supervising or managing sales personnel and sales activities.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $99,800 to $137,300 per year, reflecting the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality where you are hired. The annual incentive plan target is 25% annually.
