Horizon Engineering, LLC offers a full-time, hybrid Business Development role in Metairie, LA, with a flexible schedule that adapts to client and partner activity. You’ll help grow civil, structural, and environmental engineering opportunities while contributing to infrastructure work. Compensation: approximate base salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year plus commission, along with performance-based bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Research potential project opportunities and track leads across target markets.
- Build and maintain client relationships, including federal agencies, state agencies, municipalities, and private entities.
- Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with contractors, engineers, architects, and other potential partners.
- Create and execute short-term and long-term business development strategies to expand market presence and support company growth.
- Identify, plan for, and attend conferences, networking events, and related industry gatherings.
- Prepare marketing materials to support outreach and business development efforts.
- Manage the company website and social media postings.
- Assist with proposal preparation as opportunities move through the pipeline.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Business development, sales, and/or marketing experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in common office software is preferred, including Microsoft 365/Office.

Work hours and location: Schedule and location vary based on client and partner meetings, conferences, and networking events. A portion of the role is based at the Metairie, Louisiana office (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Hybrid work options are available, and flexible hours are offered.
