Join Tesla’s Megapack sales team in San Juan, Puerto Rico, onsite, to help drive utility-scale energy storage deployment. You will work alongside a cross-functional group at the center of a fast-growing business that serves electric utilities, independent power producers, and renewable developers. The role offers meaningful growth potential as the Megapack business expands, with collaboration across engineering, finance, and legal to move projects from initial engagement to contract. Travel is periodic, roughly eight weeks per year, and the position is based onsite in San Juan to closely support customers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Represent Tesla to customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to support the sales process.
- Provide critical support across the sales cycle, including organization, customer engagement, and technical/economic analysis, to achieve annual quota targets.
- Generate high‑quality quotes and project proposals, often in response to complex utility RFPs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and Tesla strategic goals.
- Lead techno‑economic analysis of opportunities, identifying risks, optimizing technical and commercial variables, and articulating Tesla’s value relative to competitors.
- Assist the senior Sales Leader in managing a pipeline of short, medium, and long‑term opportunities across a range of customers, project types, and markets.
- Provide regular reporting to management as required.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of work experience in the renewable energy space and/or power sector.
- Experience in customer‑facing sales or business development.
- Working knowledge of battery systems, renewable power, and grid markets.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced environments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities related to complex price models, storage and renewable project economics, techno‑economic optimizations, and risk analysis.
- Ability and flexibility to travel periodically, approximately 8 weeks per year.

Projects are typically large, utility‑scale deployments that provide capacity, grid services, or integration of renewables to the grid. The Megapack business has grown rapidly and is well positioned for significant additional growth within Tesla’s broader portfolio.
This is a dynamic, customer‑facing role that spans the full sales cycle from account management to technical diligence and contract negotiation. The Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting a team of sales leads, coordinating and enabling projects from initial engagement to contract execution in partnership with Tesla’s commercial and technical support groups.
Internally, you will coordinate diverse project teams—engineering, finance, legal, and other disciplines—to achieve sales goals. Externally, you will build and manage customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and close deals. In addition to a strong work ethic and team orientation, the team values creativity, passion, and a willingness to explore new ground in utility‑scale energy storage.
