Based in Logan, Utah, Slickhorn Ranch is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead the growth of its Wagyu beef business on site. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $100,000 - $120,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical insurance, health insurance, holiday pay, and paid time off. You will drive strategies to expand the customer base, increase revenue, and maintain premium supplier status.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field and bring at least five years of sales experience in the food industry. The role requires a proven track record of leading sales teams, strong relationship-building with retailers, restaurants, and distributors, and the ability to translate data and market trends into practical plans. It also involves managing logistics and compliance responsibilities, including refrigerated transportation, freight coordination, and FDA compliance. This is a fast-paced environment that values collaboration with marketing, product development, and logistics teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute sales plans to meet growth targets, expanding into new markets and growing sales with existing accounts.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with key buyers, including major retailers, restaurants, and distributors.
- Identify new business opportunities and craft approaches to pursue them, including presence at industry events and conferences.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and logistics teams to align on strategy and execution.
- Review sales analytics and market data to guide strategy and pricing decisions.
- Oversee sales budgets, forecasts, and KPI metrics to ensure targets are achieved.
Requirements
- 5+ years of sales experience in the food industry, preferably in a similar product category.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a relevant field.
- Results-driven leadership and team management skills with experience in sales leadership, goal-setting, performance tracking, and accountability management.
- Comprehensive logistics and supply chain management expertise, including refrigerated transportation, freight coordination, and FDA compliance.
- Skilled in resolving shipping and fulfillment issues efficiently.
- Proven ability to close deals and expand existing relationships, with a strong focus on delivering value to customers and driving sustainable business growth.
- Proven track record of success in leading sales teams and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using sales data and metrics to inform decision-making.
- Willing to travel up to 25% (preferred).

- Deep expertise in the beef and cattle industry, encompassing cattle markets, processing, pricing, grading, and supply chain management from ranches to retailers.
