Director, Business Development & Strategy
Job Description
Samsung is seeking a senior leader to guide the business development and strategy for its cross-platform service portfolio. This onsite role is based in New York, NY and offers a compensation range of USD 220,000 - 255,000 per year. The successful candidate will identify and execute strategic partnerships, drive revenue, enable new products and services, and shape partnership strategy and the product roadmap across Samsung’s device ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the long term strategy for Samsung's service offerings and the accompanying product roadmap
- Identify and pursue first of their kind TV partnerships to advance Samsung's service portfolio
- Assess opportunities, set strategic direction, and secure buy in from internal and external executives
- Create non standard deal structures and negotiate large, multifaceted agreements
- Develop and implement plans to ensure project success
- Partner closely with product, engineering, marketing and operations to drive partnership strategy and execution
- Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing and BD teams across Samsung business units to create new businesses, products or features that leverage Samsung's ecosystem of devices
Requirements
- 12+ years of overall experience; Bachelor's degree required; MBA or JD preferred
- 6+ years in corporate development, strategy and partnerships with deep knowledge of technology and media industries
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, financial modeling and analytical skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects
- Experience leading complex, senior level negotiations and presenting to C-level leadership
- Ability to read and interpret detailed product development documents and contracts
- Ability to formulate and defend opinions on market and competitive direction and its impact on company strategy
- Proven ability to build relationships internally and externally, identify key stakeholders, and influence strategic direction
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience negotiating non-standard, multi-layered contracts
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in an unstructured environment; strong operational mindset and a results-driven attitude
