Director, Business Development

Spectrum is seeking a Director, Business Development to drive high-impact business deals that support Charter’s Product, Advanced Engineering, IT, Media and other teams. This onsite role in Sandy Springs, GA focuses on licensing transactions, outsourcing engagements, and strategic alliances, with financial modeling and deal process leadership at the center.

What you will bring

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Strong, comprehensive understanding of cable and telecommunications products and services
• Familiarity with cable industry trends and competitors, including new entrants
• Understanding of financial modeling, financial reporting, and analysis used by financial and investment professionals to evaluate organizational effectiveness and performance
• Ability to analyze, understand, and interpret data and translate findings into decisions
• Capability to lead multiple projects and tasks while managing competing priorities
• Strong judgment to make sound decisions and solve problems under pressure
• Strong ability using standard professional tools, including PCs, tablets, phones, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to motivate and persuade others
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards

Deal leadership and analysis

• Evaluate, negotiate, and execute business deals supporting Charter teams, with emphasis on licensing, outsourcing, and strategic business alliances
• Create financial models and presentations to support business transactions and product strategy
• Conduct research to inform deal structure and product direction
• Lead Charter employees through the deal process
• Converse and interact with senior-level operations, sales, and finance stakeholders internally and at external companies

Experience and education

• Minimum experience: 5+ years
• Industry research and financial analysis: 5+ years
• Contract negotiation and drafting: 5+ years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in physical science, math, finance, economics, accounting, liberal arts, or related field
• Preferred: MBA and/or JD
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish
