As a Business Development, Charging professional, you will independently lead new Tesla charging site development from early sourcing through feasibility and contracting, then coordinate hand-off to the design and installation teams. Your work helps ensure Tesla customers have charging experiences that are reliable and conveniently located.
Role Overview
You will manage end-to-end site development for Tesla Charging within your territory. This includes identifying promising locations, conducting feasibility and due diligence, supporting permitting and approvals, and working through contracting and close-out coordination with internal partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Autonomously oversee all phases of new site development and identify the most suitable locations to host Tesla Charging products for your territory.
- Lead site selection, contract negotiation with site hosts, and utility and permitting feasibility studies.
- Ensure efficient hand-off to the Tesla design and installation team for construction and close-out.
- Support a customer-focused outcome by ensuring current and future Tesla customers have an optimal experience at convenient charging stations.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of potential sites aligned with market goals for serving current and future EV customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external deployment colleagues.
- Complete site due diligence across the development process.
- Support efforts to obtain approvals from utilities and permitting authorities.
- Collaborate with attorneys to draft, negotiate, and execute site host agreements.
- Work with design and installation teams to assess and manage installation costs and timelines.
- Accurately forecast upcoming milestones and document progress throughout the development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring
- Negotiation experience with contracts, real estate, utility planning, charging infrastructure, EV infrastructure policy, and local permitting (strongly preferred).
- High organization with the ability to manage 20+ projects across different phases simultaneously.
- Autonomous execution with a high-motor approach, self-motivation, and a clear point of view on what is required to get the job done.
- Business understanding to connect site host needs with how Tesla charging supports those business goals.
- Stakeholder communication across a wide range of roles and backgrounds, including CEOs, facility managers, city planners, marketing managers, and utility planners.
- Risk management with an aggressive approach to identifying and reducing risk before issues affect project timelines.

Compensation
USD 108,000 - 210,000 per yearly
Expected compensation includes a salary range plus potential cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay offered may vary based on individualized factors such as market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements depending on the position offered.
