Position Overview
Trilliant Food & Nutrition is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and detail-oriented Sales Director for the East Coast to join a growing coffee and nutrition organization. The Sales Director will drive regional revenue by prospecting and supporting key accounts, building strong, long-term relationships with customers.
This leadership role includes executing the commercial strategy, negotiating trade terms, overseeing field execution, managing key account relationships (such as grocery and retail chains), and overseeing distributor networks to achieve volume and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage business, promotions, distribution, innovation, sales, and pricing initiatives to sell the company brands within all key accounts.
- Use proven account management experience to develop account plans and budgets, prepare and present account reviews, and communicate effectively both internally and externally.
- Build and cultivate relationships with key retailers within the territory and tailor efforts to each account to improve market share and growth for all parties.
- Conduct routine meetings with buyers to sell in new products, programs, and promotional activities.
- Work with retailers (Ahold-Delhaize, Publix, Kroger, Market Basket, and Wegmanās), distributors (UNFI, KeHE, C&S Wholesalers), and brokers (where applicable) to align company goals, increase brand visibility, and implement, manage, track execution, and evaluate results tied to pricing, distribution, and space initiatives.
- Maintain constant communication with relevant Sales Ops and Customer Service personnel in the assigned territory to promote the sale of company brands within key accounts.
- Keep a consistent category review cycle with existing accounts and actively prospect against a new target account list.
- Analyze and develop sales opportunities using Nielson or other provided sales and CRM software.
- Partner with Supply Chain to maintain accurate forecasts based on sales trends, promotions, and seasonal changes.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks, including expense reports, monthly work calendar, trackers, establishing prospect targets, evaluating discount programs, conducting price surveys, and competitive analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel (40ā50%).
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the CPG industry, including 4ā5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Detail oriented with strong knowledge of the overall coffee and nutrition categories for retail customers.
- Experience using national syndicated account sales data and/or CRM software such as IRI, Neilsen, Circana, and Numerator.
- Reside in the eastern part of the United States (preferred).
Hours, Location, and Pay
- Location: Remote
- Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday
- Travel: Approximately 50%
- Pay: Competitive base pay rate and benefits package for full-time employees
