Sales Manager

Malloy Chevrolet in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team. The role combines day-to-day department management with forecasting, customer issue resolution, and a strong focus on compliant, on-time vehicle delivery.

Role Overview

In this full-time, onsite position, you will manage key functions across the sales department, including wholesale, retail, purchasing, and marketing. You will also support performance planning by forecasting sales goals and expenses, while demonstrating effective closing skills and maintaining high standards for customer communication and vehicle delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage all areas of the sales department, including wholesale, retail, purchasing, and marketing
• Use automotive internet and retail tools such as v-auto, Roadster, and KBB
• Forecast monthly and annual goals and objectives for vehicle sales, along with gross and key expenses
• Apply strong closing abilities to support sales outcomes
• Address and resolve customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain high standards for vehicle delivery to customers
• Ensure sales representatives understand and follow dealership policies at all times
• Communicate effectively with customers, subordinates, and other management
• Train and lead the sales staff, with a focus on developing team performance

Requirements

• Previous automotive sales management experience
• Leadership skills with a genuine interest in training fellow employees
• Enthusiasm and high energy during the sales workday
• Goal-oriented, friendly approach, including during negotiations related to pricing
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities
• Quality customer service, communication, computer, and basic math skills
• Authorized to work in the USA
• Valid driver’s license

Compensation

Salary: USD 90,000 to 160,000 per year.
