Senior Sales Manager
Job Description
Based in Las Vegas, this on site leadership role drives on property sales performance by maximizing occupancy and room revenue in coordination with hotel operations. The Senior Sales Manager leads the sales team, offers daily guidance to Sales Managers, and helps shape the strategic plan to deliver revenue results.
Responsibilities
- Execute an assertive sales solicitation program leveraging outside calls, inside appointments, telephone conversations, emails, personalized letters, video sales presentations, and virtual tours, with approximately eighty percent of time devoted to active solicitation.
- Provide daily support to Sales Managers, assisting with account development, activities, sales calls, site visits, and business evaluation.
- Assist the Director of Sales in developing a realistic yet aggressive annual marketing plan, and refresh your portion monthly to reflect market conditions.
- Develop a quarterly action plan aligned with the annual marketing plan and current market conditions, including sales strategies and timelines for target market segments.
- Send proposals for leads matching the property profile and actively pursue conversion to a definite status; issue proposals promptly after holding space.
- Document and outline the client's room block requirements, upgrade needs, meeting space requirements, budget details, decision making process, and key buying signals.
- Obtain, document, and route all necessary information for definite groups, including billing information, credit applications, rooming lists, and VIP arrangements; coordinate meeting details, menus, and audio visual needs with the catering manager for follow-up.
- Forecast weekly group production and share with the Director of Sales to enable the property forecast.
- Participate in Group Pick Up meetings as needed and provide feedback to the Group Housing Manager on changes such as room requirements and cut-off dates.
- Achieve all assigned KPIs, including sales solicitation goals, bookings, lead response times, and group pace.
- Join weekly revenue calls when requested, presenting your group forecast and discussing the current sales pipeline to support transient rate strategy for the period.
- Inform the Director of Sales of any group offers or e-blasts to be created for your market segments.
- Submit expense reports weekly to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Prepare any sales reporting required by management or ownership.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and guest needs throughout all activities.
- Assist the Director of Sales on special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum three years as a high performing Sales Manager at Remington Lodging or five or more years in related sales roles.
- Strong business communication and presentation abilities in both spoken and written form.
- Effective client dialogue with active listening, demonstrating professional and courteous sales skills when presenting the hotel.
- Proven ability to think creatively to secure business.
- Strong work ethic and self initiative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sales systems.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Adherence to attendance guidelines as established by the employee handbook and property leadership.
- Ability to work varying schedules to accommodate business needs.
- Basic numerical skills.
- Ability to stay focused and complete tasks on time amid interruptions.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with staff, management, corporate teams and ownership.
