Job Description

This onsite General Sales Manager role in Abilene, TX leads the Kia of Abilene sales department, coaches a high‑performing team, and drives dealership growth. The position offers a competitive annual compensation of USD 150,000 plus performance bonuses, with a minimum of two years of dealership leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and invigorate the sales team to achieve targets
  • Set clear monthly targets for each representative and conduct regular one‑on‑one coaching sessions to monitor progress
  • Cultivate accountability through weekly sales huddles, daily performance reviews, and real‑time leaderboards
  • Partner with HR to recruit, onboard, and train new sales associates, ensuring adherence to established standards
  • Optimize dealership performance by reviewing daily and monthly metrics such as gross profit, unit sales, and closing ratios, and delivering actionable insights to the General Manager
  • Oversee showroom operations to maintain consistent inventory presentation, effective lot management, and timely pricing adjustments
  • Implement digital lead follow‑up processes to achieve a 90%+ lead response rate within 15 minutes
  • Enhance customer experience by addressing escalated concerns and turning challenges into repeat business opportunities
  • Collaborate with F&I to monitor finance penetration and promote accessory and protection‑product sales for improved deal profitability
  • Coordinate with Service to create service‑to‑sales referrals, loyalty programs, and customer retention initiatives
  • Report directly to the General Manager with weekly performance recaps, headcount plans, and budget forecasts

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a General Sales Manager or Sales Manager with at least two years of dealership experience; Kia or FCA background is a plus
  • Strong leadership abilities to coach, mentor, and hold the sales team accountable to monthly targets
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience analyzing metrics such as front‑end gross per vehicle, closing ratios, and front‑end gross, and implementing corrective actions
  • Excellent communication skills for leading sales meetings, handling escalated customer issues, and collaborating with F&I, service, and marketing
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as ELeads and comfort using digital platforms to track leads and monitor performance
