Sr. Business Development Director
Job Description
Blackhawk Network is seeking a Sr. Business Development Director to lead growth and partnerships in disbursements and payouts, with a specialized focus on class action settlements. This remote role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and aims to expand BHN into new verticals through strategic alliances and high-impact deals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a three-year growth plan to scale BHN's presence in class action disbursements and related digital payout use cases, surfacing high-potential opportunities that generate new revenue and strengthen the portfolio.
- Maintain and extend senior relationships across claims administrators, digital payout providers, fintech players, and digital commerce ecosystems to uncover opportunities beyond BHN’s core offerings.
- Articulate BHN’s value in class action solutions to senior leaders at target organizations and advocate for BHN’s capabilities in emerging payments and digital disbursements.
- Collaborate with Product, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Finance to ensure initiatives are properly prioritized and supported.
- Drive the channel and partnership roadmap by evaluating, validating, and launching alliances relevant to large-scale settlements and digital disbursement needs.
- Proactively pursue and close high-value deals, shaping terms to align with BHN’s strategic and financial goals.
- Own revenue targets, budget forecasting, and cost management for new initiatives within the class action channel.
- Develop compelling business cases with ROI analysis to align resources with the highest-return opportunities.
- Provide regular updates to executive management on milestone progress, revenue forecasts, and pipeline development.
- Represent BHN at conferences and industry events, highlighting expertise in class action payments and emerging digital commerce solutions.
- Monitor the broader digital payments and fintech landscape, especially trends in large-scale disbursements, to anticipate opportunities or challenges.
- Propose product enhancements or new service offerings to stay ahead of regulatory shifts, consumer expectations, and partner demands.
- Lead and mentor business development managers, account executives, and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into executable plans.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across Legal, Product, and Operations to deliver a seamless partner experience.
- Effectively communicate BHN’s strategy to potential partners and internal stakeholders with energy and clarity.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of channel management and business development experience, including conceptualizing, negotiating, and closing complex multi-year deals in fintech, payments, digital commerce, or related fields.
- Proven track record of structuring partnerships that deliver measurable revenue growth and ROI, with experience leading cross-functional deal teams.
- Visionary mindset with the ability to foresee shifts in class action solutions and digital payments and translate them into actionable growth plans.
- P&L responsibility, comfortable owning revenue targets and presenting financial projections to senior executives; capable of justifying new investments based on market potential.
- Executive-level influence, skilled at building high-trust relationships with CMOs, CEOs, and other C-suite stakeholders within large, matrixed organizations.
- Expertise in complex deal-making, balancing multiple priorities, and aligning internal teams to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Familiarity with class action disbursements or similarly regulated, high-value payment channels and the related legal and operational nuances.
- Understanding of emerging payment platforms and fintech innovations such as mobile wallets and digital payout solutions, with ability to leverage them strategically.
- Team-oriented approach that fosters collaboration and shared success across a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate a matrix organizational environment, aligning with corporate objectives and maintaining momentum in fast-paced settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Superb written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal teams and external partners.
