Job Description

The Community Liaison will develop referral networks and drive demand for Horizon Health's inpatient psychiatric services in Minnesota and North Dakota. This onsite role covers Bemidji, Fergus Falls, Fargo, Detroit Lakes, and Alexandria, and reports to the Director of Business Development.

Compensation

USD 55,029 - 70,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and apply Sales Excellence practices and Service Recovery protocols.
  • Serve as the conduit between Horizon Health facilities and referral partners, executing service-focused action plans tailored to referral sources, representing the organization in the community, and conducting facility tours for key stakeholders.
  • Attend Business Development team meetings and provide marketing updates, timely reports, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for top accounts, principal contacts, planning documents, client profiles, and competitive profiles as directed by the Director of Business Development.
  • Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with existing referral sources and identify opportunities to add new sources.
  • Optimize field time to maintain an average of 8 to 10 in-person meetings daily with referral sources, covering facility programs, treatment philosophies, and outcomes and satisfaction data.
  • Develop and convey tailored sales messaging for each Horizon Health program and target audience.
  • Identify and design strategic sales plans for current and prospective referral sources within the assigned territory and target markets, incorporating relevant research to locate contacts.
  • Plan and execute sales activities approved by the Director of Business Development to maximize market penetration among assigned accounts and identify potential accounts in targeted market segments.
  • Track daily referral inquiries and admissions statistics and continually analyze the effectiveness of weekly sales action plans.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and anticipated market changes, using these insights to adjust weekly action plans and contribute to overall business development strategy.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and accurate communication while fostering cooperation and using problem solving to strengthen relationships among the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community.
  • Maintain current information in MedSeries 4, MIDAS, and MEDIK, including daily contact logs and accurate account data, and utilize proprietary reports to plan sales activity.
  • Submit all required reports promptly, including expense reports, sales call plans, and post-call follow-up reports.
  • Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as directed by the Director of Business Development and facility needs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field is required; exceptions may be considered based on experience.
  • Experience in marketing or sales within a behavioral health setting is preferred, with at least three years of documented work in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
