Job Description
Child Action is seeking a Fund and Business Development Manager for an on site role in Rancho Cordova, CA. This full time position offers a salary of USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family. You will help diversify funding, strengthen partnerships, and coordinate cross functional efforts to sustain programs across the Sacramento region. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, marketing, or a related field and brings at least five years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with corporate partners, foundations, government agencies, and community organizations in the Sacramento region, aligning with program priorities
- Research and identify high impact funding opportunities, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships aligned with Child Action's mission and program needs
- Conduct market and landscape research to inform funding alignment and business opportunities that support program sustainability and growth
- Support the development and coordination of major funding proposals, sponsorship opportunities, and strategic investment communications, ensuring alignment with Director led strategy
- Maintain accurate records in the donor and CRM database to track outreach, commitments, and follow up activities
- Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to support internal reporting, grant reporting, and funder updates, including tracking partnership impact and outcomes
- Represent Child Action at community meetings, partner convenings, and business engagement events to support relationship development and visibility
- Support targeted fundraising campaigns, corporate sponsorship efforts, and donor engagement strategies in line with organizational priorities
- Contribute to the development of corporate sponsorships and partnership opportunities that strengthen and expand programs
- Identify and engage individual donors and partners as part of a coordinated effort to diversify funding
- Cultivate and steward donor and partner relationships, including ongoing engagement and follow up
- Assist in coordinating engagement with prospective donors and partners through defined processes from initial contact to sustained partnership
- Draft persuasive narratives and support grant proposals, sponsorship requests, and investment materials aligned with program data and strategy
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop sponsorship packets, donor impact reports, campaign updates, and marketing collateral
- Conduct outreach with corporations, foundations, and public sector partners to support partnership development and alignment with program priorities
- Plan and coordinate donor engagement activities, briefings, and events that highlight program outcomes and community needs
- Coordinate cross-department projects related to partnerships, funding alignment, and strategic initiatives
- Track timelines, deliverables, and communications across internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings including agenda, notes, and follow up to maintain alignment across initiatives
- Help develop and maintain systems such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Teams, and project management tools to streamline communication and document outreach and funding coordination
- Contribute to development and maintenance of a strong funding pipeline aligned with organizational priorities
- Support initiatives that increase investment across multiple funding streams including corporate sponsorships, grants, and partnerships
- Support flexible and sustainable funding opportunities to strengthen and expand programs
- Strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders across business, philanthropic, and public sectors to support program impact and long term sustainability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, marketing, social sciences, or related field
- Five years of experience in fundraising, business development, public affairs, strategic communication, grant writing, program development, or related field
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information into clear summaries, reports, and presentations
- Proven project management, communications, and research abilities
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and strict deadlines while maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to compile and analyze data to create complete and accurate reports and recommendations
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- Ability to comply with agency safety and ergonomics policies and practices
- Technical proficiency with Salesforce, SharePoint, Teams, ClickUp, and Constant Contact
- Onsite location in Rancho Cordova, CA
- Ability to travel as needed
Hours
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some overtime and weekend hours may be required to support events and deadlines.
