Business Development Coordinator - Private Equity
Job Description
This hybrid Business Development Coordinator role supports revenue-generating opportunities across practice areas, industry teams, and client teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the execution of pitches, proposals, RFPs, and marketing materials by managing timelines, collecting experience and matter information, supporting drafting and editing, and ensuring alignment with firm messaging and positioning.
- Maintain deal and matter descriptions within experience management systems and support reporting initiatives.
- Assist with legal directory submissions by collecting experience, supporting drafting, coordinating interview preparation logistics, and tracking progress.
- Support thought leadership development and execution, including articles, alerts, podcasts, webinars, surveys, and related content; coordinate internal teams to move items from concept to publication.
- Maintain and update representative matters, practice descriptions, attorney bios, website content, and other client-facing materials.
- Act as a day-to-day BD liaison for conferences and events, partnering on event coordination, messaging, speaker coordination, attendee outreach, RSVP management, partner communications, and post-event follow-up.
- Support creation and upkeep of target lists, ensuring CRM/database accuracy, relationship tracking, and preparation materials for meetings.
- Conduct research to create background materials on target firms, investors, and market participants to support outreach, relationship-building, follow-up, and broader BD work.
- Assist with competitive intelligence requests, market research, reporting, and tracking related to strategic initiatives.
- Help identify cross-selling opportunities and prospective targets using research and reporting tools.
- Support business plan execution, including initiative tracking, internal communications, agenda management, follow-up items, and recurring reporting driven by attorney and BD needs.
- Handle special projects and department initiatives as assigned.
- Collaborate across disciplines and geographies, support collegiality among BD professionals, and contribute to cross-training efforts to improve bandwidth flexibility and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in marketing, business development, events, communications, or a related field.
- Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting deadlines, and time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated judgment, professionalism, discretion, and strong attention to detail; commitment to high-quality deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to build relationships across attorneys, clients, vendors, and business professionals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, including willingness to support colleagues across focus areas.
- Strategic mindset to understand business development objectives and adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
- Experience with CRM systems including DealCloud, and experience databases including Foundation, plus other business development technology platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and related marketing/business development technologies.
- Interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies within firm-approved guidelines to improve efficiency and support business development initiatives.
- Experience with Harvey or similar platforms is a plus.
- Occasional travel willingness to support conferences and events.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, client-service-oriented professional services environment, including flexibility during peak workload periods tied to pitches, events, conferences, rankings submissions, and other key initiatives.
- Interest in corporate transactions, private equity, fund formation, financial services, or related professional services industries is a plus.
- Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.

Additional Information
- Location: New York, NY (hybrid)
- Compensation: USD 74,500 - 104,300 per year
