Business Development Director – Solid-State Transformer (SST) / Power Conversion Solutions
Job Description
Jereh North American Group is seeking a Business Development Director to drive market expansion and customer development for solid-state transformer (SST) products and related power conversion technologies across North America, based in Houston, TX. This role focuses on building a strategic opportunity pipeline and coordinating with engineering, product, and operations teams to align technical solutions with commercial needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development plans for SST and related power conversion solutions across North America
- Identify, prioritize, and qualify new customers, channel partners, target verticals, and market-entry opportunities
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of strategic opportunities in assigned and emerging markets
- Engage customers to understand technical applications, commercial requirements, and buying criteria
- Establish and manage relationships with decision-makers across utility, industrial, EPC, data center, engineering, and electrical infrastructure environments
- Coordinate with engineering, product, and operations teams to support solution development and commercial alignment
- Support proposals, pricing strategy, commercial positioning, and go-to-market planning
- Monitor competitor activity, customer trends, and developments in SST, power conversion, and advanced electrical infrastructure markets
- Represent Gen-Systems at customer meetings, industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities
- Maintain CRM discipline, including pipeline reporting, forecast visibility, and accurate opportunity tracking
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Electrical Systems, Energy, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of business development, technical sales, account growth, or market development experience in SST, power conversion, electrical infrastructure, power systems, or related advanced electrical technologies
- Direct experience with solid-state transformer (SST) products or clearly related power-conversion technologies is required
- Minimum 3 years selling electrical equipment, advanced power systems, or power-conversion-related solutions
- Minimum 2 years selling into utility, industrial, EPC, data center, or related technical infrastructure markets
- Minimum 2 years of CRM experience
- Strong ability to develop opportunities for technical or engineered products
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
- Willingness to travel as needed to support business development activity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SST, smart transformer, advanced transformer, or power-electronics-based electrical infrastructure products
- Exposure to data center power, utility applications, industrial power systems, grid modernization, or advanced energy technologies
- Existing commercial relationships in relevant customer sectors
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, or multinational industrial environment
- Experience using CRM tools and managing structured pipelines, proposals, and forecasts
