Business Development Representative - Recovery
Job Description
Drive referral growth and support an efficient admissions flow for a recovery facility in Adair, IA (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development programs in consultation with the Director of Business Development (DBD)
- Maintain a schedule of primary referral sources, including business, industry, EAPs, managed care, physicians/licensed practitioners, and allied health professionals
- Document every contact in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Track and update account information, referral and admission records, and related statistics
- Prepare business development reports and materials
- Build and maintain new account relationships and marketing activity
- Target and create strategies to increase business in competitive markets
- Increase referral sources within the facility, including physicians, social workers, and discharge planners
- Develop strong relationships with key referral sources and respond to business development opportunities
- Provide customer support and maintain targeted outreach volume per a quarterly marketing plan
- Plan and run community workshops, seminars, and facility tours to educate clients, families, community members, and referral sources
- Represent the facility at civic and professional functions and communicate the mission during outreach
- Act as a liaison between the facility, referral sources, and the general public to support a positive professional image
- Manage leads from referral sources and support an efficient admissions process
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Admissions Department
- Coordinate with discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, and management
- Provide education support to generate and strengthen referral sources
- Stay current on industry changes through self-education, peer education, and professional/community involvement
- Attend scheduled department meetings and provide month-end review updates, client servicing schedules, customer sales forms, and other reporting requirements
- Generate face-to-face meetings and track admissions activity against goals, documenting timely updates in CRM
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Behavioral Health, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of related experience in healthcare business development and marketing role preferred
- Good understanding of the local market and referral base
- Organized with demonstrated multitasking ability
- Well-developed and effective relational skills
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile as required by the facility
