Job Description

The Business Development Vice President (BD VP) leads growth efforts within an assigned territory, with responsibility for generating and expanding revenue across Robert Half accounts. The role focuses on understanding client needs, increasing market share, and working with internal leaders to support adoption and usage of enterprise capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and expand revenue by creating business opportunities for each account in the portfolio.
  • Build a detailed understanding of client needs across the organization.
  • Educate assigned practice group points of contact (POCs) and internal stakeholders to increase account market share.
  • Ensure portfolio accounts align with SA & NTA Deal Guidelines.
  • Partner with the Client Acquisition & Expansion Vice President (CA&E VP) to transition new clients into the portfolio during initial client integration.
  • Oversee the customer life cycle to maintain organizational alignment and proactively drive adoption and usage of enterprise capabilities.
  • Work directly with the NTA team on shared accounts to generate business opportunities for each account in the portfolio.
  • Host quarterly business reviews to identify emerging opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Support early engagement in the customer buying process to analyze needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Execute the Client Road Map to support optimal account growth and implement acquisition strategy and goals for new business generation.
  • Conduct semi-annual account reviews to support maximum growth.
  • Develop and sustain long-term customer relationships and engage buyers and sponsors across customer seniority levels.
  • Assess the competitive landscape and lead strategy execution to take competitive market share.
  • Partner with the SA VP and field leaders to address revenue roadblocks, including obstacles to scheduling meetings with key hiring managers.
  • Include Managed Solutions subject matter experts on client visits to provide actionable inputs addressing client pain points.
  • Execute high-level client strategy meetings and quarterly business reviews across C-suite and front-line manager audiences.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the client for Robert Half Talent Solutions, including in-person visits, job order generation, and expanding revenue across Robert Half.
  • Take an active role in job order generation by setting meetings with hiring managers and joining RH field staff for scheduled client meetings.
  • Execute the Client Road Map with dedicated POCs and ensure job orders are filled quickly to support high customer satisfaction.
  • Track job orders lost to competitors and meet with competitor hiring managers at assigned accounts.
  • Discuss Collaboration Scale to meet partnership goals and strengthen client value.
  • Understand and adhere to KPIs and performance evaluation areas from sponsors to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support resolution of significant client issues as they arise within the account.
  • For decentralized accounts across multiple geographies, identify common roles and skills to build a talent matrix for proactive market outreach to managers.
  • Communicate account changes, focus areas, and revenue enhancements to field leadership and key personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of business development experience with a proven track record as a top performer.
  • Internal Robert Half experience as a top performing Practice Director or Branch Director, or prior experience as a top performing account manager of large, strategic account clients in a staffing organization.
  • Proven collaboration skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills at the C-suite level.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and ability to develop and generate high revenue volumes for new accounts.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and draw insights from various resources and methodologies.
  • Ability to multitask and manage numerous large clients while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • 50% or more travel may be required based on company guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Typical salary range: $80,000 to $111,600 per year, negotiable depending on experience and location.
