Responsibilities
- Represent the hotel in developing market segments and new client relationships, while maintaining assigned accounts and pursuing revenue growth across rooms, public spaces, F&B, and ancillary offerings.
- Actively upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue.
- Assess the overall market, including competitors, economic trends, supply and demand, and adjust sales approaches accordingly.
- Engage in outside sales activities to discuss opportunities and entertain clients in local and assigned markets; conduct site visits and participate in tradeshows, industry, and customer events.
- Conduct site inspections and familiarization trips to develop potential group business, touring guest rooms, meeting spaces, banquet facilities, and other hotel facilities.
- Entertain group contacts on property and in the marketplace; may be required to entertain outside of normal office hours.
- Communicate marketplace developments to the DOSM/ADOS and generate promotional ideas and activities within the designated market.
- Ensure timely and proper turnover for quality service delivery, with detailed handling of a subset of groups.
- Respond promptly to incoming group or catering opportunities within predefined parameters; refer opportunities outside these parameters to the appropriate sales associate.
- Promote accountability to drive superior business results through effective execution of sales strategies and processes.
- Prepare proposals and contracts to inform prospects about guest rooms, meeting space, and banquet availability and pricing.
- Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business, including proposal generation, contract drafting, and customer correspondence; relay information to the Events department per standards.
- Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout every interaction.
- Collaborate with other sales channels to ensure coordinated, complementary efforts and avoid duplication.
- Travel extensively to national markets in line with the promotional plan.
- Attend weekly sales department meetings and other scheduled sessions to support business operations.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards while representing Marriott properties.
- Maintain effective communication with all hotel departments.

Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Sales Manager is preferred.
- Associate or bachelor's degree with emphasis on Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong multi-tasking abilities.
- CI/TY experience is preferred.
- Ability to travel 2 to 4 times per year.

Position Overview

Work Conditions & Physical Demands
Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a commercial setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and bustling activity. The role requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team and to support managers with special projects. Collaboration across functional areas is essential, along with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with individuals at various organizational levels. The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, manual handling, reaching, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting up to 80 pounds. Vision requirements include near, distance, color, and depth perception.
