Senior Group Sales Manager
Job Description
This onsite, full-time role in Cleveland offers a salary of $65,000 to $70,000 per year. You’ll join a Marriott branded hotel operated by Savour Hospitality, a franchisee that manages its own employment policies. The Senior Group Sales Manager will lead all sales activities in the designated market, develop tailored proposals, negotiate and close deals, and drive performance in alignment with brand and franchise goals. This position presents opportunities to shape sales strategy, cultivate partnerships, and deliver exceptional service to clients and planners.
Responsibilities
- Represent the organization to customers, the public, and external sources while conveying the hotel’s value proposition.
- Lead and execute all sales activities within the assigned market to generate growth.
- Gather client needs, analyze them, and craft customized proposals tailored to each opportunity.
- Negotiate terms and close sales, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
- Deliver tailored proposals with high quality, timely service, and a positive, professional demeanor.
- Collaborate with local and account sales teams to maximize production from high priority accounts within the market.
- Develop the sales strategy for the assigned market and achieve personal booking goals.
- Create strategic account plans for demand generators in the market and maximize their potential.
- Utilize demand generation tools to drive opportunities and outcomes.
- Balance proactive outreach with responsive selling to capture opportunities.
- Activate and manage platforms required for the sales process.
- Maintain accurate client information across databases and sources.
- Establish and nurture client relationships to secure new and repeat business.
- Lead prospecting activities as the Business Development Manager and explore partnerships.
- Develop and scout partnerships to expand the hotel’s network and opportunities.
- Produce and deliver presentations to clients and third party planners as needed.
- Promote the hotel by participating in industry trade shows and sales trips.
- Strive for budget targets and ROI, while managing expenses to benefit owners and investors.
- Foster productivity through constructive leadership and a challenging work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in lodging sales for luxury or upscale hotels and resorts.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to present information effectively to individuals or groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Prior Marriott experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
