Community Liaison - Account Manager/Business Development/Marketing/Outreach
Job Description
This Community Liaison role covers the Minnesota Territory (Bemidji, Fergus Falls, Fargo, Detroit Lakes, or Alexandria) and focuses on developing demand for inpatient psychiatric services, managing territory accounts, and collaborating with the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Apply Sales Excellence and Service Recovery standards in daily activities.
- Serve as the liaison between the facility and referral sources, implementing service-oriented action plans tailored to referral needs.
- Act as a resource and representative to the community.
- Conduct facility tours for key stakeholders.
- Participate in Business Development team meetings and provide marketing updates and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development promptly.
- Document top accounts, key contacts, planning reports, client profiles, competitive profiles, and other updates as required by the Director of Business Development.
- Foster positive relationships with existing referral sources and identify opportunities to expand the referral network.
- Maximize field time while maintaining a daily average of 8-10 in-person contacts with referral sources regarding facility programs, treatment philosophies, outcomes, and satisfaction data.
- Develop and communicate sales messaging for each program and for each target audience.
- Build strategic sales plans for current and prospective referral sources within the territory and target markets.
- Incorporate relevant research to identify appropriate contacts.
- Plan and execute sales activities approved by the Director of Business Development to maximize market penetration and identify new accounts in target segments.
- Monitor referral inquiries and admissions statistics on a daily basis.
- Regularly analyze weekly sales action plans for effectiveness and adjust as needed.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and apply insights to weekly plans and business development strategies.
- Facilitate timely, accurate communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
- Promote cooperation and use problem-solving skills to strengthen relationships among the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community.
- Keep up-to-date information in MedSeries 4, MIDAS, and MEDIK, including daily contacts and current account details; leverage proprietary reports to guide sales activity.
- Submit all required reports promptly, including expense reports, sales call plans, and post-call follow-ups.
- Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as needed to support business development goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field required (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a case-by-case basis).
- Marketing or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
- Minimum of three years documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
