Sales Manager
Job Description
The Sales Manager will lead a team of Product Specialists overseeing valve product lines within the Outside Sales Team, setting revenue targets and strategies, coaching the team, and collaborating with marketing, operations, and vendor partners to achieve goals.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute sales plans designed to meet or exceed revenue targets across the organization.
- Provide strategic input during product evaluations and identify opportunities to expand the portfolio to strengthen offerings.
- Offer technical support, alignment, forecasting, planning, and implementation across geographies where the Galloup, Forberg Smith, and Merlo lines are represented.
- Act as the primary leadership liaison with key principals and vendors, and work with Kendall Group senior management and GFSM leadership to deliver a unified go-to-market strategy.
- Provide guidance, direction, growth opportunities, and mentorship to the sales team.

- Pursue ongoing professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Leverage CRM capabilities to develop the team, enhance sales force effectiveness through annual planning and periodic reviews, and apply countermeasures as needed.
- Support strategic company initiatives affecting field sales, such as supplier partnerships, promotions, e-commerce, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) initiatives, and integrated solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts and ensure high-quality customer service across functions.
- Conduct regular market research to understand customer preferences, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Attend sales and company meetings as requested and participate in industry shows and conventions when applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of selling experience, preferably related to the product line or with end users in industrial or technical environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office with intermediate to advanced Excel; able to learn new software and determine effective product focus and customer outreach.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of multi-tasking and shifting priorities in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and superior internal and external customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and written/verbal communication abilities.
- Physical, mental, and visual capacity to perform duties, including the ability to see, speak, and hear; and the ability to sit for eight hours per day.
- Normal office environment with exposure to warehouse and fabrication settings and moving equipment.
- Estimated travel of 50 percent with overnights.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.

Qualifications We Prefer But Don’t Require
- 5+ years of selling experience in a related product line or with industrial/technical end users
- At least 2 years of management experience
- Experience interfacing with or supporting a direct sales force
