Job Description
JL Closets, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Sales Manager to recruit, coach, and lead a Sales Designer team across Southeast Florida, with expansion underway into Southwest Florida.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and hire high-performing Sales Designers.
- Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development for new designers.
- Run individual coaching through sessions, field observations, ride-alongs, and performance reviews.
- Set clear goals and create development plans for each sales team member.
- Identify emerging leaders and build development opportunities for top performers.
- Handle performance concerns promptly and constructively.
- Build and reinforce a sales culture focused on coaching, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Own team sales performance, including revenue, close rates, average order value, lead follow-up, and other KPIs.
- Establish individual and team goals, then monitor progress consistently.
- Analyze sales data to spot trends, performance gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Support designers during complex or high-value in-home appointments when leadership involvement can help secure the sale.
- Improve pipeline management, forecasting, CRM usage, and sales reporting.
- Recognize strong performance and hold team members accountable to established standards.
- Evaluate and improve the company’s sales training program.
- Create repeatable processes for recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Partner with company leadership to review product offerings, pricing, promotions, and sales positioning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Installation to improve the client experience from appointment through project completion.
- Ensure sales growth stays aligned with production and installation capacity.
- Develop sales-team structure and a market plan to support expansion into Southwest Florida.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of progressive sales experience, including a minimum of 3 years leading, coaching, and developing a sales team.
- Experience managing, coaching, and holding sales professionals accountable for measurable results.
- Proven success recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing multiple salespeople.
- Strong knowledge of consultative, high-ticket, in-home sales.
- Track record of improving close rates, revenue, sales consistency, or other measurable performance indicators.
- Ability to analyze sales data and convert insights into coaching and business decisions.
- Strong proficiency with CRM systems, sales dashboards, and modern business technology.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to set high performance expectations while supporting constructive team development.
- Willingness to travel throughout Southeast Florida and, as expansion continues, Southwest Florida.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of sales-management experience in custom-closet, home-organization, custom-cabinetry, kitchen-and-bath, or a closely related industry.
- Experience managing approximately 10+ Sales Designers or in-home sales professionals.
- Direct experience recruiting and developing at least 5 Sales Designers.
- Experience leading a sales team across multiple territories or helping launch a new market.
- Familiarity with closet-design software, pricing systems, or custom-manufacturing sales processes.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $90,000
- Annual performance bonus opportunity: up to approximately $70,000
- Standard total annual cash-compensation opportunity: approximately $160,000
- Bonus eligibility and payouts based on defined sales-team performance measures under the company’s written bonus plan.
- Higher base salary may be considered for an exceptional candidate with directly relevant sales-management experience in the custom-closet industry.
