Job Description
Charged Marine is building one of the fastest-growing marine electrification ecosystems in North America, spanning Charged Marine, Sea Watts, and ZEMA. This role offers a hybrid remote arrangement with a base in Sacramento, California, and a compensation package that includes a base salary plus commission and performance bonuses. It is a leadership-focused position centered on strategic partnerships, sponsorships, memberships, and consulting opportunities, engaging with CEOs, marina operators, utilities, and investors. This is not a traditional sales role, but a role that emphasizes strategic impact, relationship-building, and visible brand advocacy.

Position overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial business development leader who can help build one of the fastest-growing marine electrification ecosystems in North America. This is not a traditional sales role.
Responsibilities
- Secure sponsorships for conferences, summits, festivals, demonstrations, and industry events
- Recruit exhibitors and technology partners
- Develop annual sponsorship packages
- Manage sponsor relationships and renewals
- Recruit Founding Partners
- Sell premium company listings and advertising packages
- Recruit marina listings, charging locations, rental operators, dealers, and OEMs
- Develop strategic content and promotional partnerships
- Recruit corporate members and sponsors
- Develop relationships with ports, marinas, utilities, government agencies, workforce organizations, and investors
- Support fundraising initiatives and grant opportunities
- Identify pilot projects and demonstration opportunities
- Generate consulting engagements
- Develop relationships with marinas, ports, OEMs, dealers, rental operators, and commercial fleets
- Identify opportunities related to charging infrastructure, marina electrification, incentive programs, and fleet electrification
- Support proposal development and project scoping
- Represent the organizations at conferences, trade shows, and industry events
- Build and maintain relationships across the marine, energy, transportation, and clean technology sectors
- Participate in speaking engagements and panel discussions
- Serve as a visible ambassador for the brands
- Build relationships with Electric boat manufacturers
- Build relationships with propulsion companies
- Build relationships with marina operators
- Build relationships with port authorities
- Build relationships with utilities
- Build relationships with air districts
- Build relationships with Clean Cities Coalitions

Requirements
- 5+ years of business development, sales, partnerships, sponsorship sales, or account management experience
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience managing CRM systems and sales pipelines
- Willingness to travel

Location and compensation
Location: Hybrid remote in Sacramento, CA 95828. Remote work is acceptable with Sacramento, California preferred.
Compensation: from $50,000 per year. Base salary plus commission and performance bonuses.
