Marketing and Sales Manager
Job Description
Lead the marketing and sales strategy for Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, KS, coordinating event promotion, sponsorship growth, and digital presence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all marketing, public relations, and advertising for events
- Supervise marketing collateral materials and associated vendors
- Build and maintain positive relationships with media
- Develop and manage the website and social media strategy to support and grow the Arena brand and image
- Identify and pursue new sponsorships and partners for arena and event-specific needs
- Maintain strong sponsor and premium seat holder communications
- Manage artwork and design for signage; update digital signage as event needs require
- Maintain the Sales and Marketing departmental budget as established by the Executive Director
- Work toward and meet annual marketing departmental goals and objectives
- Gather, record, and compare event attendance monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date
- Summarize monthly attendance, events, and economic impact for the Client
- Forecast event attendance and economic impact to support the annual budget
- Directly or indirectly sell venue advertising, signage, sponsorship packages, suites, premium seating, and other revenue-generating assets
- Attend and contribute at weekly senior staff meetings
- Plan and monitor special events
- Assist premium food and beverage coordination with the food and beverage department for Loge seat level
- Serve as a liaison with other event staff affecting the Loge seat level
- Attend training seminars and conferences
- Rotate Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise both full-time and part-time employees in the Sales and Marketing Department
- Interview, hire, and develop employees
- Assign and manage departmental work
- Address employee relations concerns in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
Requirements
- Four-year degree in marketing/communications or related field
- Minimum 3 to 5 years previous experience, including knowledge of public and media relations, media buying, promotional and sales development, and advertising
- Demonstrated knowledge of event center practices
- Leadership skills, proactive work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of Excel and Word processing programs
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to perform physical activities including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computer software, and peripherals
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to travel, including overnight
