Job Description
Orbem seeks a Senior Director, Business Development - Poultry to lead global growth, strategy, and cross-functional initiatives, owning P&L and driving revenue and product delivery.
Location: Houston, TX on-site
Salary: USD 150,000 - 180,000 per year
Experience: Minimum 5 years
Responsibilities
- Grow Orbem's poultry business on a global scale.
- Build strong relationships within the poultry sector with key stakeholders.
- Drive cohesive and innovative strategies across Orbem's activities.
- Manage the poultry unit P&L, sustaining growth and performance.
- Allocate resources strategically to align with Orbem's goals and deliver measurable results.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate strategic, financial, operational, and compliance risks to ensure continuity and sustainable growth.
- Lead all business development efforts to achieve commercial growth, strategy alignment, and execution.
- Own the hiring, promotion, and professional development process for the business development team.
- Make decisions on team structure, promotions, and salary increases within the BD team.
- Develop BD team members with a focus on career growth, data-driven sales, and marketing expertise.
- Align BD unit goals with Orbem's core values to foster a positive, collaborative, results-focused culture.
- Mentor and guide teams to ensure ongoing growth and alignment with Orbem's goals.
- Coach selected individuals to enable effective leadership of the BD unit.
- Collaborate with other teams to provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance as needed.
- Promote cross-functional debriefs and feedback sessions for transparent communication and alignment.
- Foster a supportive and motivating environment where team members can excel.
- Make informed decisions in high uncertainty, balancing risk and opportunity to grow the business.
- Lead by example, demonstrating Orbem's core values in daily actions and decisions.
- Support team members by being approachable and proactive in guidance and feedback.

Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial experience negotiating and closing eight-figure contracts.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-growing, technology-driven environments.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and implement commercial strategies and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong budget management and resource allocation skills.
- Ability to align global business strategies with local market needs and organizational values.

Your Role
- Accountable for the success of Orbem's global poultry business, driving commercial strategy and leading BD teams.
- Oversee development and delivery of AI powered products and services for the poultry sector.
- Directly influence revenue growth and innovation by owning the business strategy and budget, plus professional development processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and ensure alignment across regions and functions.
