Sr. Manager - Litigation Business Development
Job Description
Join a nationally recognized Am Law 100 firm’s high profile litigation team in New York City with a hybrid work setup. This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 180,000 to 230,000 per year, and the chance to shape client development for Investigations, White-Collar Defense, and Complex Litigation. You’ll collaborate closely with senior litigators and cross-functional partners to drive growth, elevate client engagement, and strengthen the practice’s market position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead client development initiatives for the Investigations and White-Collar Defense group and other high-value litigation practices
- Advise practice leaders on visibility strategies, evolving client needs, and cross-practice opportunities
- Create compelling pitch materials, client proposals, and strategic RFP responses tailored to litigation services
- Identify litigation trends and market shifts, then translate that intelligence into actionable pursuit plans with attorneys
- Collaborate with partners to map and execute growth opportunities tied to high-net-worth clients, corporate investigations, and regulatory matters
- Facilitate post-pitch debriefs and coach attorneys on business development follow-up and client engagement
- Monitor legal industry developments to keep the firm positioned against evolving client litigation needs
- Liaise with PR and communications teams to support litigation rankings, award submissions, and brand visibility efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, law, or a related field
- 10+ years of business development or marketing experience
- At least 5 years within a law firm or professional services environment, with direct exposure to litigation groups
- Deep understanding of how legal services, especially investigations, regulatory defense, and high-stakes litigation, are sold and positioned to corporate clients
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with senior legal professionals
