Job Description

Management Resources Group LLC (MRG) is seeking a Vice President, Business Development to drive commercial growth in health plan and hospital markets for its Commercial Health initiatives (IRO). This remote role will lead strategic partnership building and revenue expansion across utilization management, independent medical review, and compliance-driven healthcare services.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on commercial health plans, hospitals, and health systems.
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with payer and provider decision-makers.
  • Lead development of tailored proposals, service offerings, and pricing strategies aligned with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee RFP responses, sales presentations, and contract negotiations for health plan and hospital clients.
  • Track market trends, payer-provider dynamics, and policy changes affecting independent review and utilization management services.
  • Partner with internal teams, including operations, clinical, compliance, and marketing, to support seamless delivery and an exceptional client experience.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade associations, and client events to strengthen market presence and thought leadership.

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare sales or business development, preferably in independent review, utilization management, or related payer/provider services.
  • Strong understanding of health plan operations, medical management programs, regulatory compliance, and the commercial payer landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with health plans and hospital executives.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading growth strategies in a complex, service-oriented healthcare environment.

Location and travel

  • Texas (remote)
  • Travel: Yes, up to 70% of the time
  • Remote with flexibility based on company policies and business needs

Position demands

  • Sit or stand to complete assigned work on a computer and other standard office technology; an ergonomic workspace is provided for both options.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other applicable office equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel as applicable.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds as applicable.
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus.
  • Typical office environment with low to moderate noise levels.
