Automotive Sales Manager
Job Description
Generous Auto is seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Manager in Sandy, UT to lead daily sales operations, coach the team, and drive consistent results. This onsite role focuses on achieving monthly sales goals while delivering an organized, customer-first buying experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed monthly sales goals
- Partner directly with salespeople on customer opportunities, negotiations, and closing deals
- Manage the sales floor to maintain an organized, professional, and energetic environment
- Train and develop salespeople on the dealership sales process
- Monitor leads, appointments, follow-up, and CRM activity
- Hold salespeople accountable for daily activity and performance expectations
- Work with the General Manager to establish and pursue sales and gross-profit objectives
- Assist with inventory management, pricing, merchandising, and vehicle availability
- Review and structure deals while maintaining dealership profitability
- Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure smooth deal delivery
- Maintain strong communication across Sales, Finance, Service, and Parts
- Monitor customer satisfaction and help resolve customer concerns
- Conduct sales meetings and daily performance reviews
- Support recruiting, interviews, onboarding, and ongoing development of sales staff
- Maintain accurate records and ensure dealership policies and procedures are followed
- Lead by example and build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism
Requirements
- Previous automotive sales management experience preferred
- Proven track record of sales success
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of dealership sales processes
- Experience with CRM systems and internet leads
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
- Comfort working alongside the sales team, improving performance, holding the team accountable, and stepping in when deal leadership is needed
- Ability to set expectations, track performance, coach employees, and handle difficult conversations when necessary
