Business Development Coach/Trainer
Job Description
Based in Bronx, NY with a hybrid work arrangement, this role offers a salary of $65,000-$70,000 per year and focuses on coaching childcare providers to strengthen program sustainability and quality.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one business counseling and assistance to childcare providers on launching, managing, and growing their business, covering accounting and bookkeeping, marketing, accessing capital, technology integration, and comprehensive business planning at every stage.
- Assist businesses and start-ups in creating concise yet thorough business and marketing plans to guide growth and become loan- and grant-ready.
- Monitor and support clients’ progress in implementing strategies to improve operations, help them pivot, evaluate results, and connect to critical resources.
- Provide financial business counseling and analysis to enhance financial stability, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver small business trainings and workshops in a creative, engaging manner.
- Contribute to expanding WHEDco’s business development curricula.
- Perform other related duties as may be requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is required.
- ASPIRE Registry Requirement: Must be registered and verified in the Aspire Registry as a trainer and have experience delivering trainings within the ASPIRE system.
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in business or financial management and analysis.
- Bilingual English and Spanish (spoken and written) are required.
- Experience as a content specialist and trainer in business administration topics.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training and coaching to adults.
- CPA Certification or equivalent credential is a plus.
- Committed to serving multi-ethnic communities that are majority immigrant or BIPOC.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Skilled in MS Office.
- Business or financial software familiarity is a plus.
- Ability to solve problems, find common ground, and achieve results with minimal support.
- Able to build relationships with and motivate stakeholders with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Self-starter who can work independently.
- Capable of proactively multi-tasking and adapting to changing and competing needs.
- Experience in creating presentations and marketing materials.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality where required.
- Willing and able to work a hybrid remote/in-office schedule to begin, attend in-person client sessions and provider site visits/meetings as needed, with the likelihood of a fuller in-office schedule in the future.
