Business Development Manager
Job Description
Business Development Manager role with Aldevron (Danaher) in the Global Sales Organization, part of the North American Sales Team, supporting the San Francisco territory on a fully remote basis.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients to increase trust, expand business opportunities, and support long-term growth between organizations
- Prospect, identify, and close new business opportunities within assigned territory across biotech, pharma, academic, and government organizations
- Develop new-client opportunities by supporting current and future programs tied to client needs
- Coordinate with inside sales and technical support teams to refine the sales and business development process for strong client support
- Provide accurate, up-to-date forecasts and revenue visibility for new opportunities, including revenue recognition projection for the quarter and year
- Maintain daily opportunity and sales pipeline tracking in the CRM system
Requirements
- B.S. in a scientific field
- 5+ years in a client-facing sales role in the life sciences industry; preferred experience selling into biopharma cell and gene therapy client segments with a proven top performer track record
- Broad technical understanding of molecular and cell biology, with ability to describe biotherapeutics workflows including nucleic acids, gene editing, DNA plasmids, mRNA therapeutics, viral vector technologies, and CAR-T
- 1+ year of sales experience with Contract Development and/or Contract Manufacturing Organizations supporting Cell and Gene Therapies, or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of sales experience into the clinical drug development process, including knowledge of call points, sales cycle, and KOLs for biotech and pharma in the Cell and Gene Therapy space, or equivalent experience

Location and Reporting
- San Francisco, CA (remote)
- Part of the North American Sales Team
- Reports to the Regional Sales Director responsible for driving orders growth and maintaining strong client relationships in the San Francisco territory
Remote Work Arrangement and Compensation
- Eligible for remote work from home
- Salary range: $145,000 - $175,000 per year
- Eligible for bonus/incentive pay
