Job Description

The Business Development Manager partners with ODMs to build business and marketing strategies aligned with AMD initiatives, supporting product development across AMD’s enterprise platform ecosystem. This onsite role is focused on expanding AMD’s server business in Automotive and Aerospace while evangelizing AMD technology and enabling sales through training and collateral.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ODM(s) to develop business and marketing strategies that complement AMD’s initiatives, including enabling product development within AMD’s enterprise platform ecosystem.
  • Evangelize AMD technology by creating and tracking marketing programs and enabling ODM sales teams through training.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product marketing, finance, legal, and executive teams.
  • Define and execute strategies to grow AMD’s server business in Automotive and Aerospace using a solutions-based approach across CPU, GPU, and SW.
  • Perform competitive, market, and partner capability assessments to shape actionable vertical expansion plans and develop supporting frameworks including market analysis, vendor evaluation, business case, and partnership execution.
  • Build and convert Automotive and Aerospace pipeline through deep partnerships with industry companies, software vendors such as Synopsys-Ansys, Siemens, Dassault, and ecosystem partners including GSIs and channel partners.
  • Develop solution sets for key AI, HPC, and Edge workloads such as CFD, Crash Test Simulation, and ADAS/Autonomous, delivering joint value propositions and GTM plans to accelerate growth.
  • Lead development of vertical-specific AI solutions with ecosystem partners.
  • Incubate pilots and POCs by orchestrating product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams, then convert outcomes into scalable, repeatable offers with reference architectures and supporting collateral.
  • Partner with HW OEMs, Hyperscalers, CSPs, and GSIs to converge solutions that address end-customer requirements across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid deployments.
  • Enable sales and marketing through targeted plays, collateral, and training, and build cross-sales relationships to drive a unified approach in key Automotive and Aerospace accounts.
  • Translate customer challenges into value propositions that connect chip-level technology to system-level solutions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and serve as an SME for the Automotive and Aerospace industry.
  • Represent AMD at key industry events such as IAA Mobility, Auto World Tokyo, and SAE WCX, delivering narratives, demos, and win stories while building advocacy with analysts, ecosystem partners, and standards groups.

Requirements

  • Experience scoping and delivering HW + SW solutions for Automotive and Aerospace and/or other Industry verticals for enterprise customers.
  • Proven track record of strategy, planning, and execution against a strategic vision.
  • At least 10 years of progressive datacenter experience with strong performance across key verticals.
  • Strong historical relationships and engagement within the automotive and aerospace industries.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology adoption and vertical-specific business models.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML stacks, enterprise software, and industry-specific digital transformation is a plus.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computational Sciences preferred.
  • MBA is a plus.
