Business Development Representative
Job Description
The Business Development Representative serves as a key link between THREE RIVERS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH and the communities, referral partners, and organizations that depend on its behavioral health and substance abuse services. This onsite role focuses on relationship building, brand elevation, and executing the strategic sales plan through ethical, mission-aligned outreach.
Role Focus
- Connect the facility with community stakeholders, referral partners, and service-reliant organizations.
- Build meaningful relationships to increase awareness and improve access to care for more individuals.
- Represent the facility as a visible ambassador through professionalism, confidence, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Business Development and the wider BD team to support demand generation for facility programs using effective marketing practices.
- Execute the facility’s strategic sales plan.
- Nurture assigned accounts and manage territory priorities.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational growth goals.
- Support those served in a fast-moving environment through strong communication skills, adaptability, creativity, and consistent follow-through.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field required; experience may be evaluated case-by-case in lieu of a degree.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting.
- Three years minimum documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships.
- Knowledge of the Southeast behavioral health marketplace, including insurance plans, target markets, and referral sources, plus familiarity with psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment and age-specific programming.
Territory & Location
- Primary territory: eastern / coastal South Carolina.
- Ideal candidate resides in coastal South Carolina.
- Work location: in person (onsite), Charleston, SC.
Travel & Schedule
- Travel: 90% regional travel.
- Schedule: dynamic based on departmental and facility needs, with potential daytime, evening, or weekend hours as directed by the Director of Business Development.
