Business Development Specialist - Radiometric
Job Description
The Radiometric Business Development Specialist drives VEGA’s growth within an assigned product line, business segment, and/or territory based in Houston or across Texas.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, identify, and build relationships with strategic customers and partners to meet corporate goals, increase market share, and improve profitability of VEGA products and services in assigned markets.
- Deliver effective presentations to stakeholders at multiple levels, including corporate offices, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), integrators, engineering firms, and end-user accounts.
- Spot and communicate where VEGA can align with client needs and strategic direction to capture future growth opportunities.
- Partner with marketing to create value messaging, market plans, and programs aligned with market demand and long-term profitability.
- Coordinate with marketing on sales enablement needs such as sales tools, event planning, trade shows, and promotional items when required.
- Review competitor strategies and recommend product positioning and pricing approaches to respond to competitive pressures.
- Lead strategic, large-dollar sales projects for assigned markets as needed.
- Identify, communicate, and work through customer issues, problems, and opportunities.
- Make business decisions that deliver mutual benefit for VEGA and corporate customers.
- If product-focused: collect strategic data on VEGA and competitive product performance and gaps, and provide feedback to Product Management for future development.
- If regionally-focused: collaborate with local sales management to optimize resource deployment and reduce customer confusion.
- Use CRM to plan and document activity; engage the broader sales team at the local level when needed.
- Track annual spend for assigned markets for analysis and reporting to management.
- Meet travel and meeting cadence requirements, including up to 50% overnight travel and frequent virtual meetings depending on assigned markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Two to four years of experience selling similar products into the heavy process industries.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Focus on customer satisfaction through continuous improvement.
- Understand, implement, and maintain the Quality Policy of VEGA Americas.
- Identify and implement corrections to problems and improvement opportunities, individually and through teams.
- Follow procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001:20.
- As applicable: ensure products meet drawings and customer requirements; identify and prevent further processing of non-conforming parts or processes.
