Job Description
Based in Orange, CA, Vaco LLC is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and develop a dedicated sales and recruitment team, ensuring recruitment efforts align with client hiring goals. This role centers on strategic thinking, market insight, and coaching high-performing teams to consistently deliver results through strong leadership and clear alignment with client needs.
Responsibilities
- Direct and develop a team of sales and recruitment professionals to consistently meet weekly and monthly targets.
- Model a high-velocity, results-driven work pace to set the performance standard across the team.
- Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing culture that emphasizes teamwork and shared success.
- Partner with business stakeholders and leaders to ensure open roles are fulfilled across the organization.
- Guarantee proficient use of technology to log activities, track job orders, and maintain comprehensive records for business development.
- Monitor team performance to identify trends or issues that could affect output or client satisfaction.
- Work with clients to understand their hiring needs and ensure recruitment efforts align with their goals.
- Foster ongoing learning and stay current with industry trends, recruitment strategies, and business development techniques.
- Introduce and disseminate best practices across the team to drive consistent performance and results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Professional designations such as CPA, CFA, MBA or similar are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience selling accounting/financial permanent placement or direct-hire recruiting services.
- Background in audit, tax, and/or public accounting is a plus.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals.
- Strong desire to lead while staying actively involved in business development and/or recruitment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience with Bullhorn is preferred.
- Ability to work with urgency and meet tight deadlines; organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
