Director Business Development

The Director Business Development position is a senior, client-facing role responsible for driving growth through RPO partnerships and shaping talent solution designs for life sciences clients. Based in Raleigh, NC, United States, this onsite opportunity centers on owning the sales process and collaborating closely with delivery teams to support successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute talent solution designs to secure new partnerships across biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors.
• Serve as the primary client solutions owner for key accounts, building deep trust with executive leaders and positioning the organization as an essential partner.
• Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, including discovery, solution design, pricing, proposal development, and deal closing.
• Apply deep industry knowledge to guide client conversations, anticipate needs, and partner with delivery teams to support flawless execution.
• Coordinate and connect integrated solutions across the broader Syneos Health organization to deliver measurable value to clients.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in life sciences recruiting, RPO, or talent consulting, including a strong track record in business development and achievement of annual revenue goals over $1 million.
• Proven capability to win complex talent solutions engagements in the life sciences industry.
• A senior-level, established network across biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device organizations.
• Exceptional executive presence and the ability to function as a credible, consultative partner to C-suite and HR leaders.
• Experience operating in a matrixed, cross-functional enterprise environment.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Compensation and Incentives

• Annual base salary: USD 120,000 - 180,000 (depending on qualifications, skills, and experience).
• Eligible for performance-based commissions and bonuses.
