Job Description
Join the San Francisco Giants and Epikkos in a hybrid role that helps scale premium travel and experience solutions globally. Epikkos provides white-label travel and experience offerings for Major League Baseball clubs and, following its acquisition by Giants Enterprises in 2025, is entering a new phase of growth beyond baseball into broader sports, entertainment, music, culinary, and cultural experiences.
This Director of Business Development position plays a leadership role in identifying, structuring, and executing new revenue opportunities across sports, entertainment, live events, and premium travel experiences. In addition to driving partnerships and pipeline growth, you will provide executive oversight of operational performance for procured experiences, working with cross-functional leaders to support delivery that is scalable, premium-quality, margin-accretive, and consistently executed at a high standard.
What you’ll do
- Own overall business development strategy for Epikkos’ next phase of growth across sports, entertainment, music, culinary, and experiential travel opportunities
- Identify, evaluate, and execute new partnerships, experiences, and revenue streams from concept through launch
- Build and manage a business development pipeline, including lead generation, prioritization, negotiation, and deal closure
- Create financial models and ROI analyses to guide investment decisions, pricing strategies, and partnership structures
- Share clear, data-driven narratives with executive leadership and stakeholders to support strategic initiatives
- Partner with marketing, operations, finance, and legal to enable scalable execution
- Oversee procurement of high-end luxury experiences with attention to quality, differentiation, and margin discipline
- Use AI tools and automation to scale lead generation and operational efficiency
- Maintain relationships with destination marketing organizations, tourism organizations, and travel trade partners
- Develop and deepen relationships with sports, entertainment, hospitality, and business leaders to drive local and national growth
- Travel as needed to cultivate strategic partnerships and oversee premium experience execution
- Establish operational standards, KPIs, and playbooks in collaboration with operations and finance to improve execution and efficiency
- Lead vendor and supplier strategy for premium experiences, including selection, performance management, and cost optimization
- Serve as an escalation point to support flawless delivery for large-scale, high-touch experiences
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience in business development within sports & entertainment and/or travel trade industries
- Proven success closing complex, high-value partnerships and commercial deals
- Deep understanding of the travel trade ecosystem, including distribution models, resellers, and destination partnerships
- Background in luxury travel and premium experience procurement
- Strong financial literacy, including forecasting, modeling, and performance analysis
- Exceptional executive communication and negotiation skills
- Track record of building long-term, trust-based relationships
- Operational mindset to scale offerings sustainably
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a fast-growing environment
- Ability to design differentiated, market-leading experiences
- Comfort using data, analytics, and AI-driven tools to inform decisions and scale impact
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale events or premium, high-touch experiences
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder operational execution, including vendors, venues, and partners
- Understanding of experience fulfillment economics, including cost drivers, margins, and scalability
- Ability to balance creative vision with operational discipline in live or experiential settings
Compensation
USD 150,000 - 160,000 per year plus incentives. Compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors the San Francisco Giants consider relevant.
