Experienced Business Development Professional - Custom Signage / Architectural Elements

DCL Design Communications is seeking an experienced Project Developer to lead business development for custom architectural products and experiences. This role is onsite in Avon, MA, focused on growing client relationships, uncovering project opportunities, and driving acquisition through proposal work and contract negotiations.

The position centers on specialty signage, custom interiors, lighting solutions, themed environments, and tech-integrated installations. You will coordinate across multiple internal teams to move projects from opportunity identification through successful execution.

What you will do

• Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring a positive customer experience throughout each project engagement
• Identify and pursue active project acquisition and business development opportunities across the industry
• Deliver presentations and provide expert consultation to clients and project stakeholders
• Lead bid proposal preparation, including estimating, budget development, and schedule planning
• Participate in contract negotiations and support project acquisition strategies
• Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, Fabrication, and Project Management teams
• Work closely with Project Managers during delivery to support successful execution
• Stay informed on active projects and relevant industry trends nationwide and globally
• Support and mentor junior team members as needed
• Travel based on client and project needs
• Maintain technical knowledge through industry events, professional publications, and awareness of evolving fabrication and construction processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in signage, themed environment, innovative tech integrations, exhibit, experiential, or architectural fabrication industries
• Demonstrated success in business management, project development, and/or project management
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, engineering, fabrication, and installation processes
• Experience leading bid proposal preparation, estimating, budget development, and schedule planning
• Ability to make presentations and provide expert consultation to customers
• Skill in establishing and preserving positive client relationships through project engagement
• Proficiency in a PC environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to participate in and support contract negotiations
• Strong leadership capability, including direct collaboration with executive staff and mentoring of junior team members
• Ability to take direction and feedback in a collaborative way
• Positive attitude with excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to take ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to travel as needed

Compensation and location

• Salary: USD 80,000 - 175,000 per year
