Retail Sales Manager

Duluth Trading Company is hiring a full-time, hourly Supervisory Retail Sales Manager to help lead day-to-day store execution onsite in Manassas, VA. In this role, you will model the customer service mindset behind “Go for WOW!” while guiding the team to deliver an engaging shopping experience through strong floor coverage, visual standards, and operational readiness.

This position supports store performance across merchandising, register and cash-handling procedures, and safety, cleanliness, and accountability. The salary range is USD $20.70 to $22.98 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong familiarity with the Duluth brand and product knowledge, then lead the store team to provide solution-oriented, friendly service.
• Demonstrate a high level of service and engagement, setting clear expectations for team members.
• Direct floor coverage to engage customers and drive the overall Duluth experience.
• Ensure customer profile information is accurately recorded.
• Address customer concerns proactively, provide positive resolutions, and make empowered decisions.
• Maintain merchandise presentation aligned to Visual Merchandising standards, including floor-sets and current product messaging to ensure the sales floor is customer ready.
• Set up sales and promotions using proper signing and communication.
• Supervise fast and accurate handling of merchandise receipts and transfers, including checking in, hanging, steaming, and visual merchandising on the sales floor.
• Ensure cleanliness standards are met across the sales floor, stockroom, restrooms, cash wrap, and hospitality area.
• Provide clear, consistent employee feedback on a regular basis.
• Follow all company guidelines, policies, and programs while serving as a positive example.
• Understand, execute, and train cash-handling and reporting functions.
• Process all register functions and ensure required procedures are followed.
• Help ensure the store is secured and respond to alarms as directed.
• Support employee and customer safety and communicate concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Customer-centric approach.
• Pride in completing work well and taking ownership in the store.
• Operates with integrity and trust.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to collaborate and function as part of a team.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Environmental Factors

• Must be able to stand or walk up to eight hours a day.
• Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting (below waist and above shoulders).
• Frequently required to use repetitive hand-to-finger motions and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently lifting up to twenty pounds; occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds; push/pull up to 20 lbs.

• Work in temperatures ranging from 50 - 85 degrees, especially in stock room areas.
• Use of a computer up to 60% of the time throughout the day.
