Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

Job Description

Blue Origin is building human access to space through strategic partnerships that help accelerate priorities across the aerospace ecosystem. In this role, you will lead end-to-end execution of complex, high-impact strategic partnerships and partner-linked financial structures, partnering closely with business units and senior leadership to develop theses, structure deals, and build repeatable frameworks that scale across the company.

Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)

Compensation: USD 145,188 - 203,263 per yearly (base pay range for WA applicants)

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with executive and business unit leadership to identify, evaluate, and structure strategic partnership and ecosystem opportunities aligned to Blue Origin priorities
  • Own complex deal execution from opportunity assessment through business case development, term sheet design, negotiation, and closing
  • Structure and negotiate commercial agreements that may include warrants, options, or other partner-linked financial incentives in coordination with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, and Finance
  • Develop and maintain market maps, partner landscapes, and partnership theses for priority partner categories
  • Lead cross-functional deal and diligence teams, including legal, finance & accounting, tax, human resources, operations, IT, sales, engineering, and strategy
  • Assess partnership opportunities and risks, including strategic fit, economic impact, execution risk, and regulatory considerations
  • Conduct research, reporting, and analysis on partnership activity and competitive dynamics in space and aerospace
  • Prepare and present clear, concise investment and partnership memos with recommendations across the partnership lifecycle from sourcing through implementation planning
  • Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to track performance measurements, pipeline, and portfolio health
  • Help create repeatable frameworks, templates, and playbooks for structuring and executing strategic partnerships and partner-linked financial packages

What you bring

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, principle investing, asset management, consulting, or a related field
  • Experience structuring and executing complex commercial partnerships such as multi-year commercial agreements, strategic technology relationships, and joint development or joint go-to-market
  • Fluency in financial and investment terminology and structures including revenue sharing, milestones, warrants and options, and cap tables
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to organize and guide complex, cross-functional work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including building persuasive narratives for senior leadership
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and influence without formal authority
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity

Additional background that’s a plus

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
  • Experience at or supporting a Fortune 500 company or a high-growth, venture-backed startup
  • Experience working with U.S. Government customers or research agencies (e.g., NASA, AFRL, DARPA), or with government primes and major aerospace and defense partners
  • Experience with joint ventures, structured strategic alliances, or partner-linked financial incentives (e.g., warrants and options) in strategic partnerships

Export control and eligibility

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Required for certain job profiles: Additional requirements may apply for drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a GVW/GVWR or combination that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs., or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce
  • Required for certain job profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain a Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
