Job Description

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Director to lead the day-to-day business development function and help drive revenue and client growth. This role partners closely with senior leadership to spot new market opportunities and lead strategic initiatives aligned with the company’s broader strategy.

Based onsite in Plainville, CT, the Business Development Director will oversee the business development team, guide strategy execution, and ensure key client and partnership relationships are built and maintained for long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Vice President in executing and refining the company’s business development strategy.
  • Lead and manage the business development team, providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership to meet performance goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and the client base.
  • Lead preparation and presentation of proposals, RFQs, and other business development materials.
  • Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships, with a focus on retention and long-term growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align client deliverables and business development initiatives with company objectives.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and competitive research to inform strategy and adjust tactics as needed.
  • Report progress, key performance metrics, and potential new opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events to build brand presence.
  • Participate in high-level negotiations and contribute to securing high-value contracts.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership with proven experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong negotiation and relationship-building capability.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to use data and market insights to drive decisions.
  • Ability to work under direction from senior leadership while independently managing day-to-day operations.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business tools.
  • Ability to implement and execute strategic plans effectively.
  • Education: BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of business development experience with a proven track record of revenue growth and team leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Knowledge of State, Local, and Industrial business sectors is a plus.
