Job Description

The Business Development Manager will identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities in the electrical construction market, driving growth for Rye Electric, Inc across commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and related sectors. This hybrid role focuses on expanding market presence and revenue in Orange County, California.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and win new business opportunities within the electrical construction arena.
  • Build and sustain relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, facility managers, engineers, architects, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Generate and manage a robust pipeline of prospective projects and clients.
  • Lead business development efforts from initial outreach through contract execution.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking activities, trade associations, and client meetings to raise market visibility.
  • Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership to position Rye Electric for project opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, upcoming projects, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, qualification packages, and client-facing materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Support contract negotiations and coordinate project handoff to operations upon award.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Rye Electric's capabilities, services, and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of successful business development, sales, or client relationship management experience in the electrical construction sector.
  • Proven track record of securing and closing new business opportunities.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts including general contractors, developers, owners, and design professionals.
  • Solid understanding of electrical construction processes, project delivery methods, estimating, and contracting.
  • Ability to establish strategic partnerships and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
