Business Development Representative
Job Description
Grow local referral relationships for PuroClean of New Bedford through outreach, networking, and consistent follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance agencies, property managers, real estate professionals, senior living communities, tradespeople, and other local businesses.
- Plan and complete regular business visits, phone calls, and email outreach to introduce PuroClean and develop referral opportunities.
- Represent the company at networking events and community functions, introducing yourself and making new connections.
- Organize and deliver presentations and lunch and learns covering services and partnership programs.
- Follow up consistently with contacts and deliver on commitments.
- Maintain accurate, current records in the customer relationship management system (CRM), including visit notes, contact information, referral opportunities, and next steps.
- Use email, calendars, presentation software, and other everyday computer tools to manage outreach and scheduling.
- Participate in company social media content, including photos and short videos that introduce the team and educate the audience.
- Coordinate with the internal team so referrals and customer needs receive timely attention.
- Manage your daily schedule and outreach activities independently, communicating progress and requesting support when needed.
- Safely operate and properly care for the company vehicle while visiting businesses and attending meetings.
Requirements
- Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle to commute to and from work daily.
- Safe, responsible driving habits and ability to operate a company vehicle for local business visits, meetings, and networking events.
- Outgoing and comfortable approaching new people, starting conversations, and building relationships.
- Organized with strong follow-through; ability to manage appointments, contacts, and priorities.
- Proficient with everyday computer use: email, calendars, data entry, and learning/using CRM software.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and delivering presentations.
- Comfortable appearing in company social media photos and videos.
- Fun, energetic, and positive while maintaining a professional presence.
- Respectful and considerate toward coworkers, clients, and business partners.
- Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently without constant supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the insurance industry.
- Ability to speak Portuguese.
- Six or more years of driving experience (may include U.S. and other countries combined), with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Previous experience in business development, outside sales, customer service, networking, or another role involving regular interaction with clients.
Compensation and Equipment
- $21 per hour
- Commission incentive on every job you bring in through outreach and referral relationships.
- Company vehicle provided for work-related travel during business hours only.
- You must have your own transportation to and from work.
