Business Development Specialist
Job Description
Life Care Services-US is hiring a Business Development Specialist in Des Moines, IA to provide operational enablement and execution support for the national Business Development team.
Responsibilities
- Own the team’s operating rhythm by tracking open items across multiple leaders, proactively booking meetings, and ensuring follow-through on next steps.
- Support deal prep and research by creating and refining briefing materials, background research, and pitch decks for BD leadership.
- Prepare RFPs and coordinate the response process by assembling and managing RFP submissions under the strategic direction of the deal’s sales/BD leader.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including national marketing, legal, finance, integration, operations, and others to keep submissions moving through to close.
- Maintain working knowledge of senior living/CCRC industry trends, competitors, and market developments, and assist with conference prep through proactive briefings.
- Serve as a CRM “power user” (not an administrator) by building reports and dashboards, enforcing CRM data hygiene, and tracking follow-ups.
- Manage NDA tracking by tracking execution status across active deals and coordinating with in-house counsel on contract-side execution.
- Coordinate meetings and agendas, including setting agendas and managing logistics for team meetings and leadership 1:1s.
- Organize conferences and events by scheduling and coordinating conference attendance, networking events, and sponsorships.
- Provide regular reporting cadence by packaging structured updates on team activity and pipeline health for leadership review.
- Stand up recurring KPI report-outs for BD leadership using structured updates on team activity and pipeline health.
- Support weekly cross-team prioritization by turning ad hoc requests into a shared, working queue.
- Address CRM reporting gaps (example given: closed-won vs. committed tracking) and ensure follow-ups are reliably logged.
Requirements
- Operations, coordination, or project-management background.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with consistent follow-up and follow-through.
- CRM fluency (Salesforce experience strongly preferred).
- Clear, concise communication in writing and meetings, with ability to distill complex information into key points.
- Event or meeting-logistics coordination experience is a plus (scope includes deck prep, agendas, and conference/sponsorship coordination).
- Ability to support multiple senior stakeholders while triaging competing priorities.
- Curiosity and engagement with the senior living/CCRC industry (reads trade press, tracks competitors, brings insights into briefings and prep work).
- Reliable, detail-oriented execution with a track record of meeting deadlines and producing accurate work.
- Preferred: some background in financial analysis to interpret a deal and help leadership understand economic benefits and upside potential (not a modeling role).
