Community Liaison - Account Manager/Business Development/Marketing/Outreach
Job Description
Community Liaison covering Minnesota Territory (Grand Forks, Detroit Lakes, or Fargo) to support a 24-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, handling marketing, sales, and relationship-building to generate demand and collaborate with the Director of Business Development and referral sources.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and apply Sales Excellence standards and Service Recovery processes.
- Serve as liaison between the facility and referral sources, implementing service-oriented action plans aligned with referral needs.
- Act as a community resource and representative for the facility.
- Conduct facility tours for key stakeholders.
- Participate actively in Business Development team meetings.
- Provide timely marketing reports, updates, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development.
- Maintain documentation for top accounts, key contacts, planning reports, client profiles, competitive profiles, and updates as required by the Director of Business Development.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with current referral sources and identify additional sources.
- Maximize field time with an average of 8-10 in-person contacts per day with assigned referral sources to discuss facility programs, treatment philosophy, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction data.
- Develop and communicate sales messaging for each program and target audience.
- Identify, develop, and communicate a strategic sales plan for existing and potential referral sources within the territory and target markets, incorporating relevant research.
- Assess, develop, and implement sales activities to maximize market penetration and identify potential accounts in targeted segments, as approved by leadership.
- Monitor referral inquiries and admissions statistics daily.
- Analyze weekly sales action plans for effectiveness and adjust as needed.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and anticipated market changes; use insights to inform planning.
- Facilitate timely, accurate communication and foster cooperation among the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community.
- Maintain up-to-date information in MedSeries 4, MIDAS, and MEDIK, including daily contacts and current account data.
- Show proficiency with proprietary reports to plan sales activity.
- Complete required reports and information requests promptly (expense reports, sales call plans, post-call follow-ups).
- Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as needed by leadership and facility needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field required; experience may substitute on a case-by-case basis.
- Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting is preferred.
- Three years minimum documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
