Join Commercial Plastics Kenosha as a Director of Business Development and help shape profitable growth across a multi-site manufacturing footprint in North America. This onsite role is built for high-energy leaders who want to work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to expand strategic customer relationships and accelerate revenue across facilities in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Monterrey, Mexico.
You will set the direction for new opportunity creation, pipeline execution, and commercial strategy, partnering with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Program Management to turn qualified prospects into awarded business. The role also emphasizes strong commercial discipline through CRM best practices and measurable performance goals.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute business development strategies focused on profitable growth.
- Identify and pursue new customers, markets, programs, and revenue opportunities.
- Grow existing accounts by finding opportunities across products, divisions, facilities, and decision-makers.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with clear growth opportunities and action plans.
- Conduct market research and provide recommendations on growth opportunities and industry trends.
- Build executive-level relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Lead customer meetings, facility tours, business reviews, and presentations.
- Act as a trusted partner throughout quoting, launch, and production.
- Negotiate commercial agreements to balance customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Drive RFQ strategy, opportunity qualification, and pursuit planning.
- Partner cross-functionally to develop competitive proposals and quotations.
- Evaluate strategic fit across manufacturing capability, capacity, risk, and profitability.
- Lead commercial negotiations to convert opportunities into awarded business.
- Set sales growth objectives and key performance metrics.
- Monitor pipeline activity, forecasting accuracy, quote activity, and revenue opportunities to keep deals moving efficiently.
- Promote CRM discipline, accountability, and commercial best practices across the organization.
- Coach and support business development, sales, and account management team members.
- Support successful product launches and customer transitions.
- Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and growth initiatives.
- Present growth strategy, customer activity, pipeline performance, and market intelligence to executive leadership.
- Identify competitive threats, emerging technologies, and market opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and foster collaboration across all company locations.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management.
- 5+ years of leadership experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience, preferably in plastics, injection molding, automotive, industrial, or consumer products.
- Proven success driving revenue growth and building strategic customer relationships.
- Strong skills in negotiation, presentation, financial acumen, and executive communication.
- Experience managing CRM systems and sales pipelines.
Bonus if you have
- MBA or advanced business degree.
- Experience within a multi-site manufacturing organization.
- Experience with OEMs, Tier One suppliers, and complex strategic accounts.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience supporting operations in both the United States and Mexico.
Compensation and location
- Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 per year
- Location: Kenosha, WI (onsite)
- Work location: In person
Travel expectations
- Approximately 50% travel to customer locations and Commercial Plastics facilities across Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Monterrey, Mexico.
- Candidates should be comfortable traveling regularly for manufacturing facility visits, customer meetings, trade shows, and business development activities.
