Experienced Automotive Sales Manager
Job Description
Glendale Nissan in Glendale, California, is seeking an Experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team on site. The role centers on driving both new and used vehicle volume while delivering a no-pressure, customer-first buying experience, with a salary range of USD 144,000 to 168,000 per year, and the position is based on-site in Glendale, CA. Candidates typically bring at least 3 years of automotive sales management experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales associates, fostering collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect
- Drive new and used vehicle sales volume and profitability while maintaining Glendale Nissan's standards for customer experience
- Conduct regular training, coaching sessions, and team meetings that build skills and morale
- Partner with the General Manager on inventory strategy, pricing, and merchandising
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing actionable feedback to your team
- Ensure every customer interaction reflects our commitment to honesty, respect, and a no-pressure buying experience
- Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset
- Recruit, interview, and help build out a team that fits our culture
Requirements
- 3+ years of automotive sales management experience (or equivalent senior sales leadership experience in a dealership environment)
- A proven track record of meeting sales goals while maintaining strong CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores
- Genuine leadership instincts — leads by example, gives credit to the team, and takes ownership when things go wrong
- Strong understanding of dealership operations, F&I processes, and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with both team members and customers
- A valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- Bi-lingual (English/Armenian, Spanish, or other languages common in the Glendale community) is a strong plus
