Job Description

UPS is hiring a Sr. Business Development Director (flex location) to help drive growth on large, complex customer opportunities. In this role based in Atlanta, GA (onsite), you will support three industry-focused Senior Director opportunities across Automotive OEM, Automotive Tier 1–3 Suppliers, and Industrial Infrastructure & Energy. You will bring industry expertise into strategic customer conversations while shaping the business cases, deal plans, and go-to-market insights that help UPS win.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic discussions with senior and executive customer leaders to help customers solve complex problems
  • Translate customer challenges into clear business and supply chain solutions
  • Build business cases that quantify customer value to support executive decision-making
  • Use industry expertise to help frontline sellers identify, qualify, and advance opportunities
  • Apply industry knowledge and relationships to open doors and strengthen customer conversations
  • Represent UPS at industry events, conferences, and other forums
  • Bring market insights back to UPS to support sales strategy, training, and go-to-market planning
  • Develop plans to win new business and grow existing customer relationships
  • Identify key decision-makers, customer priorities, competitive risks, and barriers to winning
  • Manage large, complex opportunities across the full sales cycle
  • Lead negotiations for large, multi-stakeholder opportunities
  • Collaborate across procurement, sourcing, operations, and executive teams
  • Move opportunities through qualification, solution development, proposal, negotiation, award, and implementation
  • Partner with internal teams across solutions, operations, finance, legal, technology, marketing, implementation, and customer support
  • Help keep internal stakeholders aligned on customer commitments, pricing, implementation needs, and account strategy
  • You may work across regions on global customer opportunities

Requirements

  • Strong track record in B2B sales, business development, strategic partnerships, solutions, or related commercial work
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise sales, business development, account development, or related work
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or similar operational environments
  • Experience navigating large, complex customer organizations
  • Ability to articulate value, build compelling business cases, negotiate effectively, and influence senior leaders
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Comfort working within a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Willingness to travel based on customer and business needs
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, marketing, supply chain, engineering, or related field
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

Location: U.S.-based with geographic flexibility. Qualified candidates may reside anywhere within the domestic United States; relocation is not required. The role is Atlanta, GA (onsite).

Pay range: $118,440/year to $236,220/year (base). Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation may be offered, subject to eligibility requirements. Incentive payments are not guaranteed and depend on factors including individual performance, business unit performance, and/or company performance.
